About The Property

A realtor with passion in the valuation, management and marketing of real products. The catalyst of my desire to study Real Estate stemmed out of watching property shows where features of apartments, condominiums, duplexes, maisonettes and townhouses would be descried meticulously.  This sparked off my interest in the built environment and therefore influencing my goals and career path.

Location Description

Following on from that, started attending construction related exhibitions, such as The Big 5 construct Kenya exhibition workshops. This was not enough, however, and I wanted to know how a real estate agency operates in Kenya and other countries. In my first and second years in the university, I was lucky enough to secure an attachment at a real estate company offering valuation, marketing and management of real property services in Kisumu, during my time there, was taken aback by the complexity of it all, learning legal processes, seeing how changing political climates affect property, and more. I was originally in charge of conducting field work and IT related tasks. Coming from a limited experience background, I had to teach myself many of the concepts, and slowly learned how to deal with clients in order to meet their needs.

With in-depth knowledge in report writing and skills in team leadership, including motivating team members, and encouraging good performance which I developed over the years as an attachee, I was able to qualify for a project competition organised by United Nation Millennium Fellowship in various campuses in the world. We did a single project as JKUAT cohorts by the name ‘Akili Afya’.  As a member of the team, I developed better communication skills and learnt how to work with wide range of personalities.

Salient Features

As a student, I have been able to interact with different software used in the building industries and therefore gaining expertise in conducting suitability analysis and land subdivision using ArcGIS and Autodesk. I am also a proficient user of Microsoft office, with a typing speed of 50 WPM.

With the experience and expertise gained over the years, I am hoping to find my next challenge in the world of marketing, valuation and management of real property and to grow my digital portfolio within a real estate company.
